JOB SUMMARY:     The Cardiopulmonary Secretary performs clerical duties for the department including greeting patients, answering phones, filing tests, entering orders and charges, stocking supplies, taking test orders, and other related duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calls, mails, and/or faxes test results to doctor's office per policy and procedure.
  • Answers phone promptly and courteously.
  • Calls new orders to therapists as they come over the printer.
  • Types memos, letters, etc.
  • Faxes tests as requested to physician offices.
  • Scans tests into Meditech.
  • Files tests correctly after physician interpretation.
  • Teaches new employees clerical duties.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Communicates effectively with all hospital personnel, patients and visitors.
  • Keeps working area clean, orderly, and well stocked.
  • Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies.
  • Assists Manager with reports as requested.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation:  High school graduate or GED.  Experience:  Experience in clerical duties. Proficient in Word & Excel.
