JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator for Sterile Processing is responsible for the daily operation of Decontamination, Prep/Pack/Sterilization, and OR Storeroom.  Responsibilities include supervising the work of Sterile Processing employees, maintaining staffing within productivity standards, policy and procedure development and maintenance, education/training of SPD personnel, QA monitoring and document retention for decontamination and sterilization equipment, maintenance of a safe environment, and monitoring and auditing decontamination/sterilization tasks in satellite hospital departments.  The Coordinator will work under the supervision of the O.R. Materials Manager and Director of Surgical Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Graduate
  • Sterile Processing Certification or Surgical Technology Graduate
  • Medical background with two years of previous sterile processing experience required
  • SPD Certification preferred
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
