JOB SUMMARY: The Medicaid Specialist follows up all Medicaid accounts to ensure prompt payment to the hospital.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures personalized handling of patient's account while maintaining sound and efficient business practices.

Handles the patient account to collect monies from insurance in the most timely and effective manner.

Stays currant on all policies and procedures regarding Medicaid billing and reimbursement by utilizing manuals, bulletins, and provider alerts.

Utilizes the Currant Medicaid Provider portal to resolve account issues in an effort to expedite payment according to established guidelines.

Telephones currant Medicaid Provider when the portal is not sufficient to resolve account issues in an effort to expedite payment according established guidelines.

Bills Medicaid as a secondary insurance promptly to collect the balance of a patient's accounts when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school graduate or equivalent, with advanced courses in Business, English and Typing.

Experience: Experience in clerical work; Keyboard experience; Can type 40 wpm
