JOB SUMMARY:  The Painter/Maintenance Helper is responsible for doing painting throughout the hospital, determining paints which will be used.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Paints surfaces with the correct type of paint.
  • Paints the correct surfaces minimizing runs.
  • Correctly paints trim work.
  • Patches and replaces sheet rock ensuring a smooth surface.
  • Always prepares a smooth surface prior to painting or hanging wallpaper.
  • Repairs and replaces damaged handrails.
  • Cleans up completely after work.
  • Lays floor tile, ceiling tile and carpet evenly.
  • Replace damaged and soiled ceiling tiles.
  • Keep mechanical and electrical rooms clean.
  • Replace non-functioning light bulbs.
  • Assists maintenance when needed.
  • Assists security when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Experience in painting, matching colors, patch work and laying baseboard is required.
